It's about provoking emotions!
My love and fascination for music and sound can be traced back to my childhood when I used to "perform" songs orally or improvise melodies on my toy piano. I have always considered composing music to be one of the most remarkable and complicated art forms. Now, I regard it both as my profession and my number one passion. To my eyes and ears, music is a language that can directly connect to us on a deep emotional level and provoke all sorts of emotions.

I did my first project as a composer in my sixth semester at Cologne Game Lab in July 2023. The joy I felt from writing and producing my first track is something I will never forget. I have committed to learning and practicing music composition ever since, and the joy is only getting more pronounced. I strive to be a storyteller in my music, as I find music and stories to be complementary elements in establishing the emotional narrative for the player.

NEXT LEVEL PIONEERS
Music Composition, Sound Design
Next Level Pioneers is a Multiplayer Sci-Fi Rover game on Mars. Players have to compete to extract resources and deploy them to the space station. They can collect power-ups to boost their abilities or sabotage their opponents. Quick thinking and acting are important: the player with the most points wins the game when the time runs out.
The plan is to release a demo on Steam in 2024.
I am working as a dedicated audio designer on this project. I'm producing the music in Pro Tools and implementing all the sound systems and the real-time processing in Unreal Engine's Metasound. Additionally, I am using REAPER to edit and produce the sound effects.

KIDS HELP
Music Composition, Sound Design
Kids Help marked my first experience as a game composer during a collaborative project at Cologne Game Lab. It's a web-based game for German elementary school children, aiming to teach them the process of CPR.

I composed and produced three tracks for this game, using my digital piano as a MIDI keyboard in Pro Tools Intro. I also created most of the sound effects using various VSTs and plugins in Pro Tools. Additionally, I was the supporting vocal for the main track of the game called Drücklied (Compression Song).

Breaking the Loop
Music Composition
Breaking the Loop is a track I composed and produced for Austin Wintor's Contest on YouTube. Inspired by a game called Twelve Minutes and a short story I wrote, I tried to create the concept of a time loop within the context of music. You can listen to the track on SoundCloud or YouTube.
Lost Treasure Hunt: A Tribute

Lost Treasure Hunt: A Tribute is a track I composed and produced for a short section of the animated film "Lost Treasure Hunt (2014)." Frozen Civilization is a short demo based on the following brief:
"Telepathic aliens inhabit the surface of a windswept ice world. Furry trolls invade from underground."

SKILLS & HOBBIES
My love and appreciation for playing piano has always been with me since childhood. The magical sound of a grand piano always holds a special place in my heart. But I'm not a fan of mere daydreaming about the things I value. That's why I practice piano and hone my skills every day, something that wasn't a choice for me before moving to Germany due to financial hardships.
Now, I use my digital piano both as an instrument to play my favorite pieces and as a MIDI device to compose music on my PC.
DAWs & SOFTWARE
Having a keen sense of hearing, time, and pitch has always aided me in video and audio-editing projects. Yet my first experience with a DAW was when I used Cubase to make music for my first game at Cologne Game Lab, mainly using sample libraries. After that, I used REAPER and its built-in plugins for a few different sound design projects, including this one, which was a ton of fun!
When I decided to compose music for the first time in June 2023, my research led me to Pro Tools Intro, which is a limited and free version of the industry-standard DAW. I have been using it ever since, alongside a host of free VSTs and plugins, for my music projects.
I am planning to dive deep into dynamic music and audio in games for an upcoming project, for which I will use Metasounds or FMOD.
